4 Days Aberdare National Park & Samburu Wildlife Safari

DAY 1: NAIROBI – ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK

On your arrival to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our company representatives for meet and greet services. Alternatively, we can pick you up from Nairobi hotel early in the morning. These 3 days luxury lodge holiday departs Nairobi after breakfast to Aberdare National Park. You travel overland through plantations of coffee and tea to The Aberdare Country Club, nestled on the slopes of Mweiga Hill. After lunch at the base hotel. You will then transfer to tree hotel for dinner. The Lodge offers high altitude game viewing, including animals that are rarely encountered elsewhere: Giant Forest Hog, Bush Pig, Tree Hyrax, Large Spotted Genet, and the elusive Bongo Antelope.
Wildlife can be observed from different levels – and from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cosy.

DAY 2: ABERDARES – SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the base hotel to connect with your vehicle travelling to Kenya’s northern Wild frontier and rugged, Samburu Game Reserve is fiercely beautiful with its arid Savannah watered by the lovely Ewaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the Reticulated Giraffe to Grevy’s Zebras and Beisy Oryxes. Arrive in good time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and a host of the big game including elephants and lions. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your sustainable lodge in Samburu reserve.

DAY 3: FULL DAY IN SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Full day spent in Samburu with early morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu Game Reserve, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to our game viewing. Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also, where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Samburu National Reserve.

DAY 4: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE – NAIROBI

Early morning game drive at sunrise followed by breakfast at the lodge/camp. We depart Samburu National Reserve viewing game en-route as you exit the park with the last picturesque of Amboseli. We drive back to Nairobi arriving Nairobi in the afternoon. You will be dropped at either your hotel or airport to connect with your home bound flight depending on the arrangements where the safari ends.
